Emerson and Yepes Win Top Honors in Stock Market Game

A.J. Emerson (left) and Carlos Yepes (right) recently competed in the Fall 2012 Stock Market Game sponsored by Economics Arkansas as part of an EAST project at SEACBEC. The competition is statewide and over 1300 teams competed. A.J. and Carlos won first and second place, respectively, in our region, and they placed 18th out of all 1300 teams. The game is a simulation of the actual stock market, and teams are given $100,000 and ten weeks to invest their money and create the most wealth. The students were rewarded with a luncheon at Verizon Arena, trophies, and cash prizes of $100 for first place and $75 for second place.
