Intermodal Authority Meets in Warren

Reginald Glover and Rick Warner attend the Intermodal
meeting.
Board members of the Southeast Arkansas Intermodal Authority met in Warren January 16, 2013 at the office of the Bradley County Economic Development Commission.  Six board members were present along with the Mayor of Warren and the County Judges of Bradley and Drew Counties.

Bob Milton covered the financial reports.  Bill Ruck of Garver Engineers went over the various construction contracts ongoing on the intermodal site.  He indicated that the work on the grading for the bulk product hauling area and the railroad siding are near completion.  Other construction work continues or is held up due to weather conditions.

There was board discussion concerning heavy post that appear to be located incorrectly within railroad right of way.  The matter was discussed at length last month.  The engineer stated that it appears 6 of the 24 posts must be removed.  They were installed as the plans called for, so it is not the contractor's fault.  No final decision has been reached but Mr. Ruck indicated Garver would credit the intermodal for the expense of moving any posts that have to be relocated.

Betty Gragg of Monticello and
Sandra Brown of Warren
attend meeting.

The financial report showed a total of $440,810.51 owed by the cities of Monticello and Warren and the counties of Bradley and Drew.  The four governments have some credits due resulting from reimbursements that have not been made by the Authority to each local government.  Mr. Milton reminded the board that the reimbursements have not been made in order to provide sufficient cash flow for the Authority to pay bills.

The Authority will continue to meet in Warren during 2013.
