Shortly before 3:00 p.m., rain began to fall in the area.  Within and hour, the soft rain had turned into a downpour packed with high winds.  The west side of town suffered the most severe damage.  The former Jack Winters/Orthoflex Factory Building's room was heavily damaged with pieces of it being strewn for a two block area southeast across Kelly Street.  Several buildings of the Warren Tomato Market were damaged.  Several trees around town were snapped in two and some fell on power lines causing outages.  Several homes suffered damage to the roof.  Other damage included the snapping of power poles and the blowing down of smaller limbs and fencing.
A home in the housing authority also suffered roof damage.
