Jacob Phillips Performs with Top Instrumental Musicians in State

On February 15 Jacob Phillips auditioned against the top 90 percussionist, across all classifications, in the entire state. Mr. Phillips was placed 9th which made him first chair in the second of the three Arkansas all-state bands.

Mr. Phillips was moved into the top ensemble, due to extenuating circumstances, where he was able to perform with the top instrumental musicians in the state. This also meant that he was under the directon of Robert W. Smith, one of the top composers of band music in the world today." The concert took place on February 22, 2014 at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

Mr. Phillips is a senior at Warren High School.
