An agency that has helped businesses obtain more than $47 million in government contract work in one year is holding a workshop Thursday, April 17, in Bradley County to help other businesses learn to tap into that market.

The workshop is being offered by the Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center, or APAC, part of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. APAC has been successful in helping Arkansas businesses secure $47.46 million through 603 government contract awards in 2011-12. APAC has helped businesses obtain thousands of awards since it was established in 1988.(See more below the ad.)

The workshop will be offered at the Bradley County Extension Office, located at 100 East First Street in Warren.

The workshop, “Introduction to Government Contracting and Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center,” runs 6-9 p.m. There is no cost to attend. The registration deadline is April 16. To register, contact Bradley County Extension Staff Chair John Gavin, 870-226-8410, jgavin@uaex.edu; or APAC Coordinator Kim Magee at 591-671-2081, kmagee@uaex.edu.

“Each year, local, state and federal government agencies contract with thousands of businesses for construction, services and commodities,” Magee said. “This is an opportunity to learn how your business may benefit and what is required of a business in order to seek and obtain government contracts.”
