Left to Right:  Chief Howard Edwards, Fireman Daniel Robinson, and Lion Harold Robinson

Warren Fire Chief Howard Edwards and Fireman Daniel Robinson provided the program April 9th for the Warren Lions Club.  Chief Edwards make some opening comments about the fire department.  He indicated that the number of fire calls for 2014 is up compared to the same time period in 2013. The Chief stated that one of the reasons for the increase is due to illegal or improper outdoor burning.  The department reminds all residents and businesses within the Warren city limits to secure a permit or approval from the fire department prior to burning and to obey all legal requirements when allowed to burn.  There are penalties for illegal burning.

After the Chief's comments the Lions Club adjourned to outside Molly's and was given an up close look at the city's new modern fire and rescue vehicle.  It is well equipped and cost around $168,000.00.  Club members got to look at all aspects of the truck and ask questions.

The Warren Fire Department consist of four full time fireman, 32 volunteers and five fire engines, which includes the recue truck.  The  central fire station is located at the corner of Alabama and Myrtle streets.  A substation is on North Etheridge Street.
