Warren Forward Downtown Network Meets


A meeting of the Warren Forward Downtown Network organization meet at Molly's Diner September 15th during the noon hour.  In addition to the members students from the Warren SEACBEC East Lab were on hand to help with suggestions and to offer assistance with design and planning.  The East Lab Facilitator Janet Harton was also present.

Chamber President David King updated those present on several undertakings by the group.  He asked for suggestions and ideas as to how the students could help.



There was discussion about plans to renovate  and utilize the old railroad depot now owned by the chamber and about a joint venture with the City of Warren to get private properties cleaned up.  Plans to improve and repair the Cultural Center were talked about and the need to improve and preserve the New Mt. Zion AME Church on North Myrtle Street,

Lastly there was considerable discussion about how to raise funds to help with the expenses of these various projects. Donations are being solicited and a major fundraiser is being planned.
