Bradley County Hometown Health Coalition Meets


The monthly meeting of the Bradley County Hometown Health Coalition was held Wednesday October 15th at the Southeast Arkansas Community Based Education Center in Warren.  The group present heard a number of reports on health related programs and projects.

Those in attendance were informed the organization hosted a booth at the county fair.  Blood pressure screens were conducted, food was collected for those in need, resource guides for insurance were passed out and other information health related was provided.

It was announce that an "insurance enrollment event" is scheduled for November 18th from 4-7 P.M. at SEABEC.  Trained insurance enrollers will be on hand to assist those needing insurance.

Also announced was the fact that Bradley County Health Department will have a limited supply of Tdap Vaccine available for adults older than 65 years. This will be on hand when the mass flu clinic is conducted sometime in November.  The date will be made public.

Information on a county health survey was made available and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event called "Spookin Out Cancer Fest" for October 25th at the Warren City Park was announced.  There will be a number of activities at the event including food, costume contest for kids age 5 and under, 6-10, 11-16 and age 17 and up.  A DJ will be on hand and prizes will be available.  For more information contact Sonya Davis at 870-820-1800.
