Rex Nelson Again MC's UUAM Sports Hall Of Fame


For the eight consecutive year Rex Nelson served as MC for the UAM Sorts Hall of Fame Banquet held October 9th at the Gibson Center on the UAM campus.  Mr. Nelson is currently the Executive Director of Arkansas' Independent Colleges and Universities.  He does radio play by play for the Ouachita Baptist College football games.  Rex has worked as vice president of The Communications Group, he was appointed to the Delta Regional Authority by President Bush and served as director of policy and communications for Governor Mike Huckabee.  He is a former political editor of the Arkansas Democrat and a former editor of Arkansas Business.  Mr. Nelson is a board member of the Arkansas Travelers and

vice president of the Little Rock Touchdown Club.

Inducted into the UAM Sports Hall of Fame were:
Corwin Elliott-Football
The late Angela Meadough-Basketball

David Stover-Baseball
Jamie Tucker-Baseball
Gene Norton-UAM Spirit Award

A reception in honor of the inductees was held prior to the game on the front lawn of the Chancellor's residence.
