Fire Department Responds To Illegal Burning

The Warren Fire Department responded to an illegal outdoor burning on January 19th at #11 Lakeside Dr.  A leaf burning that was being carried out in violation of city ordinance was out of control and threatened to harm property in the area.  Four firemen and one engine responded to the site and a citation was issued to the person who allegedly was conducting the illegal burning.  According to information provided by the Warren Fire Department, this was the second time within a year that an illegal fire was started on this property.  Conviction of illegal burning is subject to a fine.

Also on the 19th, the fire department assisted the ambulance service with a call.  On the 20th, the city rescue truck was called to a car wreck at the intersection of Rock and St. James Streets.

All citizens are reminded to check with the Warren Fire Department prior to setting an outdoor fire.  Permission must be secured from the department and certain precautions must be taken to practice safe burning.  For more information call 226-8302.
