Shooting Range Getting Closer

The rain the snow and the ice have not helped but progress continues on construction of the Warren
Shooting Range being built just south of Warren.  Work is ongoing and a major step was taken Tuesday March 17th with the delivery of the trap buildings.  Three large concrete type bunkers were placed on site and will now be buried and equipped to fire clay targets for shooters to practice hitting.  Skeet houses will be added to allow those utilizing the range to shoot skeet and trap.

According to city staff it is hoped that the facility will be completed by May.  Weather will continue to influence the timetable.  Upon completion the range will be one of the best in Arkansas and will be available to the public to use.  It will be used by youth shooting teams, the local community and should draw visitors to Warren.

This project is a joint venture between the City of Warren and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.  It will be operated by the City of Warren.  Grant funds and city money is being used to construct the range.
