Bradley County Health Coalition Gives to Relay For Life

Alicia Outlaw, Diane Sipes, and Kimber Knight
During it's monthly meeting, the members of the Bradley County Health Coalition voted to contribute $100.00 to the Relay for Life activity set for Friday April 17th.  The event will be held at the Warren High School Gym on Seminary Street.  The opening ceremony is to begin at 6:00 P.M
Relay for life is an annual event to help raise money and awareness for cancer research, assistance to patients and education.

The speaker for the meeting was Ms. Kimber Knight with the Arkansas Health Department.  She presented a program on the health rankings of the seventy five counties of Arkansas and pointed out the status of Bradley County in the various categories.  The county ranks near the middle of the pact in most areas.  This means we are better than many counties but not as well off as a number of others from a health perspective.

Information was given out providing specific functions of the Arkansas Health Department and data on services provided in Bradley County.  The attendees were given a list of services and activities to be provided during the Health Fair scheduled for Saturday April 18th on North Bragg Street.  A reminder of the Job Fair set for Thursday April 16th was handed out.

There was considerable discussion about how to make health care in Bradley County more accessible and improve health outcomes.  It was noted that Warren and Bradley County have an excellent group of doctors and other health care professionals and outstanding facilities.
