Leah Acoach, Jeff Coffman, Gregg Reep, Ken Johnson, and Conya Goodman

Lead by Leah Acoach, the Director of Human Resources for Ozark Mountain Poultry, members of the management staff of OMP's Warren Plant, spoke to the Warren Lions Club during the club's regular meeting April, 22nd.  The program was scheduled by Lion member Gregg Reep.

On hand to discuss the state of the Warren facility along with Acoach were Ken Johnson, Plant Manager, Jeff Coffman, Facilities Manager and Conya Goodman, the Human Resource manager for the Warren plant.  Leah Acoach provided an overview of OMP and discussed the philosophy of the company starting with majority owner and CEO Dr. Ed Fryar.  She indicated that the company believes in the value of its employees and customers and producing a quality product at a reasonable price.  Ms. Acoach told the Lions that OMP started out as a small firm in Rogers, Arkansas, expanded into Batesville, Arkansas and now operates in Warren.  The company produces about three million pounds of poultry per week.  They provide healthy chicken free of antibiotics.

When asked about further expansion in Warren Ms. Acoach said the company is always moving forward and seeking growth.  She stated that OMP needs to make the two shifts in Warren strong and productive.  She went on to say it takes time and there are always challenges.  During her comments she told the Club there are 23 institutions of higher education in Arkansas and only two pure trade schools.  She stated there are many well paying job opportunities for trade skills in Arkansas and there needs to be an educational emphasis on the trades.

The entire staff agreed that the Warren facility is doing well and they expressed appreciation to Mayor Bryan Martin and the City of Warren for being supportive and helpful in locating OMP in Warren.  Club members thanked them for coming to Warren and for the jobs provided.

Acoach gave special recognition to Jeff Coffman for the role he played in connecting OMP to the Warren community.  She indicated the staff at the Warren Plant is doing a very good job.
