37th Gospel Music Jamboree Hosted by Lions

The Warren Lions Club Gospel Music Jamboree was held Wednesday night at the Cultural Center. The program began with a welcome from Lion Eddie Thomas and was followed by prayer led by Lion Gary Harrison.  After the prayer Lion Gregg Reep gave a brief rundown of the activities of the Lions Club and its history.  Lion Brandon Gorman then introduced the emcees Mayor Bryan Martin and 2015 Miss Pink Tomato Amber Jade Helms.

Music entertainment included:  a duet by Brother Richard Barley and Monica Nichols, First Free Will Baptist Church Choir, PowerHouse Church of God in Christ Choir, a song in sign language by Shirley Green, Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, and Harmony Freewill Baptist Church.

Right:  Former Warren Lumberjack Receiver and Defensive Back who is headed to Arkansas State to play for the Red Wolves, played the drums for the PowerHouse Choir.

Shirley Green's signing of a gospel song received accolades and a standing ovation.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Choir was another favorite this year.
