HeirloomTomatoes On Display At “Tomatoes at the Trotter” June 25

MONTICELLO, Ark. — A taste of heirloom tomatoes and an all-tomato dinner will be offered by the University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Agriculture as part of the fifth annual “Tomatoes at the Trotter” June 25 at 6:30 p.m.

The event will be held at the UAM Trotter House bed-and-breakfast at 404 North Main Street in Monticello. For $25 each, guests may participate in an heirloom tomato tasting and evaluation and enjoy an heirloom tomato dinner prepared by Chef Thomas Bedward of Aramark Food Service.

The event will include information about activities involving the local Market in the Park farmers’ market, the Monticello Community Gardens and the Master Gardener Program of Arkansas.

Door prizes will be available and net proceeds will benefit the UAM School of Agriculture Scholarship Fund. For tickets or more information, contact the School of Agriculture at (870) 460-1091.
