American Legion Post Creates Scholarship For Crossett Campus

American Legion Post 111 of Crossett recently created a scholarship to be awarded annually to a student enrolled in a technical program at the UAM College of Technology-Crossett. The scholarship is worth $500 a year and will be awarded in $250 installments each semester. Applications are available in the Student Services Office on the Crossett campus. Deadline to apply is September 1. “By establishing a scholarship, the members of American Legion Post 111 have demonstrated their desire to invest in the education of students who are preparing for technical jobs,” said Linda Rushing, vice chancellor of the Crossett campus. “We are not only thankful for their interest in our students and our workforce, but we are encouraged by the value they have placed on the technical training we provide.” Pictured from left are Steve Lochala, vice commander of American Legion Post 111, Janie Carter, assistant vice chancellor, Jack Netherland, commander of Legion Post 111, Linda Rushing, vice chancellor UAM-CTC, and Harry Walker, executive board member of Post 111.
