The Bradley County Chamber of Commerce has elected five new members to the board of directors. Elected to a three year term are :
Rev. Phil Farris, Pastor, First PresbyterianChurch
Gayla McWhorter, Simple Simon's Pizza
Tanya Johnson, Johnny's Radiator
Lynette Vines, City of Hermitage
Ken Johnson, Ozark Mountain Poultry
These five will join the classes of 2016 and 2017, to make up the full board, which governs the local chamber.
In other business the members were provide minutes of the recent Warren Forward meeting and the most recent meeting of the Pink Tomato Festival committee meeting conducted January, 7th. It was noted that the Tomato Festival has reorganized its finances and Leslie Adams has been elected treasurer.
Chamber President David King updated the board on ongoing efforts to secure grants for renovation of the railroad depot and work underway to gain funding to improve or remove the Bryants Building on Main Street.
The December financial report was reviewed and the proposed 2016 budget was discussed. A motion was adopted authorizing the finance committee to review the current dues structure.
The next meeting of the Chamber is set for February 8, 2016 at Golden Girls.
