Bradley County Chamber Board Meets

Members of the board of directors of the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce meet Monday February, 8th at Golden Girls restaurant.  Chamber Board Chairman Mike Nichols informed the board that Joel Tolefree has been appointed interim Executive Director.  There was discussion that the board could take no action at the meeting due to the lack of an agenda having been prepared.  Mr. Nichols stated that information would be made available during the meeting, but no action would be taken.

There was further discussion about the need to get commitments from board members to attend meetings regularly and be active in chamber activities.  Updates were provided on plans for the 2016 Pink Tomato Festival.  Members were told the Mardi Gras event was canceled but all other planned events were moving forward.

It was reported that the Bradley County Quilt, Needlework and Sewing Festival is set for March 18-19 at the Old National Guard Armory building on Martin Street.  Members were also informed that efforts are ongoing to secure grant funding to renovate the Railroad Depot and to conduct an environmental assessment of the Bryant building.

The board was then informed that fundraising for the 2016 Tomato Festival is underway.
