Pink Tomato Festival Committee Meets

The Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival executive board met Thursday, February 4.  They set their regular meeting times on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 4:00 p.m.  The chairman, Mike Nichols set the goal to fill all chairs by the next PTF meeting.

The committee discussed the duties of all executive committee members and the duties of all chairmen.

They discussed approaching the City Council concerning the closing of streets needed for the festival and parade and the situation at the corner of Main and Cypress due to the recent fire of the downtown building.

The committee also discussed when contribution forms should be sent out and the need to visit the festival's larger donors.

They reviewed the PTF brochure to make sure all contacts have been made and contracts signed.

In addition, they talked about the fees arts and crafts vendors pay vs. fees paid by commercial vendors.

They asked the essential question, " How much money does it take to put on each event?"  When money is collected receipts will be writing and a copy will be kept.  At the conclusion of the festival each event will give an account of total money received along with the profit/loss margin.

Bids will be taken as soon as possible on T-Shirt production.

It was noted that the City of Warren does not give money to the festival.  They have a contract with the Chamber of Commerce for promotional ads.
