Hermitage District Refunds Bonds

The Hermitage School Board meeting in a special meeting on April, 25th, voted to refinance a bond issue of $3.9 million.  The refinancing will save $322,159.00 as a result of the action taken, over the life of the bond issue.  Lower interest rates made the savings possible.

In other action the board voted to adopt the proposed budget of expenditures with tax levy for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017 to and including June 30, 2018.  Members also approved Beardsley Public Finance as financial advisor for a period of three years.

By unanimous vote the board adopted recommendations for certified and classified policies.  Out of state travel requests were approved for teachers and students.  A motion was approved to authorize Dr. Tucker to take bids and utilize the low bid to purchase a HVAC unit for the elementary cafeteria.  Another vote authorized the superintendent to seek bids for stripping and waxing floors.

After returning from executive session, the board approved the following:
-change in bus driver salary schedule-0-60 minute trip=$5400.00, 61-90 minute trip=$7200.00, 90 minute and above=$8100.00

-pay $25.00 per hour to Rosalynda Ellis to get district ready for the advanced district visit

-hired Liz Richey as an elementary teacher

-hired Jade Huitt as the ELL/Pre-K Director and COPA Administrative Assistant with five days added to her contract

-change Matt Huitt's job assignment and extend his contract for work as a classified employee

-accepted letters of resignation from Raynette Wilson as math teacher and Susie Scott as soccer coach.
