WHS Physical Science Students Build and Launch Rockets

Deandre Jamison, Kris Archer, and Brittany White set up their rocket, while Gaige Watson and Javon Washington hold the launcher.
Education has rocketed to a new level in the physical science classroom of Mrs. Candi Cabiness at Warren High School.  In a lesson unit studying motion, physical science students built model rockets. The not only learned about applications of Newton's Three Laws, they used problem solving, following directions, and experienced working in groups.  After building the rockets, the students set up the rockets at the football practice field and launched them.  You might say, it was hands-on learning at its best.

Anne Yepes and Gage Reep not only built their rockets, they positioned them for launch.

Easton Sinclair, Javon Washington, Gaige Watson, and Marcus Miller prepare to launch one of the rockets while Anahi Rostro focuses her camera to record the event.

Brittany White, Payden Sparks, and Kris Archer took their work seriously and had a great learning experience.

Deandre Jamilson sets his group's rocket in place for the launch.

When students wrap their hands around a project, they wrap their minds in learning. Marcus Miller, Easton Sinclair, and Charlie Gonzalez
