Genealogy Society Meets

Left to Right:  Sandra Gatling, Lana Pagan, and Kim Forrest
Kim Forrest, Sandra Gatling, and Lana Pagan spoke to the Bradley County Genealogy Club Sunday afternoon.  Mrs. Forrest spent time discussing the Daughters of the American Revolution while her sister-in-law talked about their Forrest family history.

The Daughters of the American Revolution was incorporated in 1896 by an Act of Congress.  Today, it has 175,000 members in the 3,000 chapters spread across the nation.  Mrs. Forrest explained how someone becomes a member of the organization.   She told them that a candidate for membership must be a woman of at least 18 years of age who can prove lineal descent of a patriot from the American Revolution.
