School Board Conducts Business in Special Meeting

The Warren School Board met in a Special Called meeting Tuesday, May 24 with the first item of business being the refinancing of two school bond issues.  Mr. Jason Holsclaw with Stephens , Inc. was present to explain to the board how they could combine the two bond issues, refinance them, and save money.  He estimated that by refinancing the bond issues the district will save $232,000.  The board unanimously to authorize Stephens to proceed with the refinancing and to utilize the Friday Law Firm and bond counsel.

After returning from executive session the board approved the contracts for SEACBEC rehires as follows:

Denecia Seller (Adult Ed. Bookkeeper part-time)

The board also accepted the following resignations:

The board received two bids for the heating and air condition unit at the Central Office.  The board voted to award the job to Cook Heating and Air for a cost of $12,122.75.

The board also finalized the agreement with Raptorproductions (salineriverchronicle.com) to livestream Warren school events.

After adjourning from the meeting, the board reconvened for the purpose of considering expulsions.
