Chamber Board Meets

The Bradley County Chamber of Commerce Board meet for their monthly meeting August,11th at El Ranchitos located at 209 E. Cedar Street in Warren.  After reviewing the minutes of the last meeting and the July, 2016 financial statement, the board was updated on the financial status of the 2016 Pink Tomato Festival.  According to Mike Nichols, who is chairman of the chamber board and was chairman of the 2016 festival, the festival finished in the black and all but a handful of bills have been paid.  A few bills just came in recently and are being processed.  In answer to a question, he indicated that a complete financial written report will be made available soon.

Chamber President Joel Tolefree reported on the efforts to secure additional grant money to repair and restore the railroad depot.  The board approved a conservation easement as required.  Mr. Tolefree also reminded the members that a committee consisting of himself, Mike Nichols and Gregg Reep will be meeting to come up with recommendations concerning the Bryant's building.  Mr. Reep was given permission to consult an engineer regarding the feasibility of the options.

Reports were given on the upcoming Bradley County Fair scheduled for September 16-17, 2016, and plans for Christmas and a santa train.There was information provided relating to the future chamber banquet and the "work ready program" being promoted by the BCEDC.

The next chamber board meeting is set for September 12, 2016 at Molly's.
