Cleveland County Fair Announces Schedule of Events

The Cleveland County Fair Association has announced the 2016 Schedule of Events which commences on September 10, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. with the Race to the Fair 5kRun/Walk and 1 Mile Run/Walk.  The race will begin and end at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison.  First, Second and Third place awards will be given in the men and women’s division.  Participation medals will be given to all who pre-register along with a race shirt, “goody” bag plus door prizes will be awarded on the day of the race. All ages are invited to participate in this FUN Family event.  For additional information or a race registration form, please contact  HYPERLINK "mailto:pcmcclellan13@gmail.com" pcmcclellan13@gmail.com.  Registration forms are also available at FBT Bank & Mortgage (race sponsor) at the Fordyce and Rison banks, Warren Bank and Trust, west branch location along with the Cleveland County Herald office in Rison.  Exhibits (excluding livestock/poultry and baked goods) must be entered between 1 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13.  Wednesday baked goods and livestock may be entered plus free gate admission from 5 to 7 p.m. for a special church night with live Christian music and motivational speaker. Inflatable games and entertainment will also be available. The Cleveland County Fair Parade will be held at 5 p.m. along Main Street in Rison with dinner served at the Fair grounds plus entertainment from the Now and Then Band.  Saturday the county Fair pageants and talent contest will be held commencing at 4:00.  The Fair Tabloid will be mailed to the subscribers of the Cleveland County Herald and can also be picked up at local businesses throughout the county..
