Intermodal Lacks Quorum For Meeting

Due to the lack of a quorum, the Southeast Arkansas Intermodal Authority could not transact business at the scheduled meeting of September 21, 2016.  Those present did review the financial report but could not take action to approve.  It was decided that a telephone poll of all board members will be taken to secure permission to pay the bills in the amount of $2566.72.  There was also some discussion relating to an agreement with the railroad company and the rail crossing within the intermodal park.  Without a quorum no action was voted upon.

According to the financial report, the authority owes $359,147.19 to Commerical Bank on a loan.
The local governments are listed as owing the following to the authority:
City of Monticello-$107,041.67
City of Warren-$108,389.21
Drew County-$155,484.38
Bradley County-$225,380.92
As has been previously reported, the two cities and two counties are not legally or contractually bound to pay the amounts listed.  The cities of Warren and Monticello Mayors have committed to recommending to their city councils, payments annually to pay their respective amounts. Both cities have been making payments as approved by the councils.
