Warren School Board Acts On Eastside Charter

The Warren School Board meet in a called meeting Monday September 26, 2016 and took action relating to the Eastside Charter and the 2016-2017 budget.  The board voted to not renew the charter for Eastside Elementary once it expires at the end of the school year.  According to Superintendent Bobby Acklin, the board intends to continue the standards based education plan but will do so outside the requirements of the state of Arkansas charter.  This will result in the district not receiving charter funding but the school will continue to receive full state funding under the school formula.  Mr. Acklin stated that the administrators and teachers were well prepared to provide a good education to the students outside the charter system.
