Warren Police Request Citizen Assistance

During remarks to the Warren City Council Tuesday evening October 10, 2016, Warren Police Chief Shawn Hildreth asked the aldermen to help spread the word that the Warren Police Department needs the public to help by adding their eyes and ears to what goes on in the various neighborhoods of the city.  The Chief stated that the community has too many cases of stealing of property and while the police will do their best to patrol and be on the lookout for criminals breaking in homes, businesses and outside buildings, it will help for neighbors to watch their own property and that of the other residents and businesses in the area.

Chief Hildreth urges everyone to make their homes and businesses as secure as possible and to keep areas as well lit as possible and to always be on the lookout for individuals who do not seem to belong in the area on legitimate business.  He indicated criminals seek places where the owners or renters are not home and take advantage to steal.  Always be alert and never hesitate to call 911.

The Warren PD has to carry out many functions and while efforts are made to patrol constantly, the help of the public is essential in helping to stop criminal activity and to apprehend those who do commit illegal actions.  Please stay on the alert and call the police if you even think something is out of line.  It takes all of us to combat crime.
