Chamber Board Changes Meeting Time

In an effort to get better attendance at monthly board meetings, the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted during the November, 14th monthly meeting to set the next board meeting for Tuesday, December 13th at 5:00 P.M.  The location will be in the agricultural building on First Street, just north of the county courthouse.

In other business, the board was informed that plans for the 2017 Pink Tomato Festival are well underway.  Efforts are proceeding to raffle off a gun and to host a shooting tournament to raise money in February of 2017.  Reports were given on the status of securing grants for the W&OV Depot and ongoing plans to deal with the Bryants building.

Christmas Open Houses are planned for November 20th, next Sunday afternoon from 1-5 P.M. and the Santa Train and Christmas Parade in Warren December 10th.

There was discussion concerning the financial status of the Chamber and the need to get the budget set in a reasonable and workable manner.  The serious need to get the board reengaged and to get more businesses involved was also talked about.  Chamber revenue has been insufficient and the issue must be addressed if the Chamber is to survive and be active in the Bradley County area.
