Missing Warren Couple Found, One Deceased

Authorities surveying the road where Charles and Margaret White became
stranded on Monday.
According to authorities missing couple Charles and Margurite White of Warren were found earlier this morning at around 8:52 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 just off of private Potlatch Road 17 west of Warren, but unfortunately Margaret White is deceased.

Authorities say that yesterday the couple made it back to Warren after a trip to Monticello in which they were last seen in Wilmar at around 1:30 p.m.  They were driving around in the country and got off the main road.  The vehicle soon became stuck on an off road about 3/4 of a mile off of Potlatch Road 17.  When they knew they were completely stranded, they decided to try and walk out to the main road.  They were unable to complete the hike.  Totally stranded and unable to go any further their Australian sheep dog stayed with them the entire night and helped keep other animals away from the couple.  At some point during the night Mrs. Margaret White passed away.  This morning Mr. Charles White was able to make it to a road and flag down help and at that time crews were able to locate the place where the incident occurred.  Mr. Charles White appeared to be ok, but out of precaution was taken to the Bradley County Medical Center.

According to our sources around 30 C&L workers, plus a number of other volunteers had been out searching for the couple for some time.  Their efforts were much appreciated by local authorities and the family.  Bradley County and Drew County officials had also been searching for the couple since Monday afternoon.

That is all the information we have at this time.  We will pass anything else of importance along as it comes in.

Again, our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mrs. Margurite White.
