GFWC Holds Monthly Meeting


GFWC Warren Woman’s Club met for their monthly meeting at the Bradley County Historical Museum with Diane Fowler and Nancy King serving as co-hostesses.

Diane Fowler, president, led the group in the pledge of allegiance and called for committee reports during the business session. Spring art work will be delivered to the residents at assisted living; the schedule to water trees planted Arbor Day at Meditation Point was distributed, and members received event calendars to solicit birthday and anniversary dates for the 2013 calendar.

Announcements of coming events included delivery of pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House and tour of the gardens at the Governor’s Mansion; Young artist Exhibit September 5-23 at the museum; and the Fall Board Meeting August 3-4 at Ferndale.

JeNelle Lipton, District VIII President, installed the local officers for September 2012-2014:  President-Diane Fowler, 1st Vice President-Jan Smalling, 2nd Vice President-Sharon Raley, Secretary-Phyllis Parnell, Corresponding Secretary-Marsha Lain, and Treasurer-Joen Bryant.

The meeting was adjourned with the Collect.  The co-hostesses served refreshments and members discussed plans for a summer social.
