Team Arkansas Earns National Championship 2nd Consecutive Year

Twenty-five swimmers from the Warren Waves Swim Team competed with 139 swimmers from around Arkansas (making up Team Arkansas) in the 2012 Junior Olympic Games in Pearland, Texas the last week of July where they brought home various medals and ribbons and the title of National Champions for the 2nd consecutive year.

Warren Waves coaches Tim Whitney and Curtis Lagrone served as assistant coaches for Team Arkansas.  Coach Tim reported that Team Arkansas team scored the highest points in junior Olympic history with 5,822 points.  All kids from Team Arkansas performed well and have earned National Championship rings for their accomplishments.

Swimmers were awarded a medal for finishing 1st through 8th and a ribbon for finishing 9th through 16th.  Warren Waves swimmers are as follows:

8&U Girls:
Victoria O'Neill, 33rd in 50 meter butterfly, 42nd in 50 meter freestyle, 47th in 50 meter backstroke, 36th in 50 meter breaststroke, and 6th in the 200 meter freestyle relay

Maddie Anders, 28th in 100 meter freestyle, 22nd in 50 meter backstroke, 22nd in 50 meter butterfly, 4th in the 200 meter freestyle relay, and 6th in the 200 meter medley relay

Valeria Navarro, 45th in 50 meter freestyle, 40th in 50 meter backstroke, and 4th in the 200 meter freestyle mixed relay

Allie McWhorter, 30th in 50 meter butterfly, 32nd in 50 meter freetyle, 37th in 50 meter breaststroke, 39th in 50 meter backstroke, and 6th in the 200 meter freestyle relay



8&U Boys:
Isaac Richey, 10th in 50 meter breaststroke, 11th in 50 meter butterfly, 11th in 50 meter freestyle, and 3rd in the 200 meter freestyle relay

Miles Hargrave, 7th in 50 meter breaststroke, 13th in 50 meter butterfly, 18th in 50 meter freestyle, and 20th in 50 meter backstroke

Cade Cobb:  9th in 50 meter backstroke, 9th in 50 meter butterfly, and 3rd in the 200 meter freestyle relay

9-10 Girls:

Kennedi Limoges, 21st in 50 meter butterfly, 32nd in 50 meter freestyle, 35th in 100 meter freestyle, and 4th in the 200 meter freestyle relay

9-10 Boys:

Josh McClain, 2nd in 200 meter freestyle, 2nd in 100 meter breaststroke, 3rd in 50 meter freestyle, 4th in 200 meter IM, 5th in 100 meter butterfly, 5th in 50 meter breaststroke, 6th in 100 meter freestyle, 6th in 50 meter butterfly, 1st in the 200 meter freestyle relay, and 2nd in the 200 meter relay

Richard O'Neill, 9th in 200 meter freestyle, 10th in 50 meter breaststroke, 15th in 100 meter freestyle, 16th in 50 meter backstroke, 19th in 50 meter freestyle, and 2nd in 200 meter freestyle relay

11-12 Girls:

Josie Smith, 15th in 50 meter breaststroke, 21st in 50 meter butterfly, 30th in 50 meter freestyle, 4th in 200 meter freestyle relay, 4th in 200 meter medley relay, and 5th in the 400 meter freestyle relay

Kaylee Jo Mann, 1st in 50 meter freestyle swim-off where she finished 16th int he finals, 13th in 200 meter freestyle, 14th in 200 meter IM, 15th in 100 meter backstroke, 16th in 100 meter freestyle, 16th in 50 meter backstroke, 20th in 50 meter breaststroke, 2nd in the 400 meter medley relay, 2nd in the 200 meter freestyle relay, 3rd in the 200 meter medley relay, and 4th in the 400 meter freestyle relay
