Fossil HD, a humanities publication, released today, February 8, 2013, the official trailer for their upcoming documentary film "The Saline."

"The Saline" is a documentary film that tells the historical account and geographic story of the Saline River.

According the Fossil HD historian and director of the film Rob Reep the film is set to premiere on June 13, 2013 at the Bradley County Pink Tomato Festivals Fossil HD film night.  "We are extremely excited about this project.  Production has already begun and as I've commented with our videography staff, this may be one of the largest undertakings I've ever been a part of in terms of a film," Reep said.

The filming and even final script writing process is still in the early stages.  Fossil HD is asking for people to come forward to be interviewed who have stories they would like to share about the Saline River.  The crew is also in need of photographs that people would be willing to have showcased in the final film.

"I don't think many people realize what they have here.  The Saline River is the last free-flowing river in the entire Ouachita Basin.  To put it in perspective: of the larger rivers in the world, only 1/3 of them are still free-flowing, meaning unimpeded by any man made structure such as dams.  That means that rivers such as the Saline are a rare and dying breed," continued Reep.

While the project is already underway, you will soon be able can contribute to the film by donating to the project.  The project fundraising site is expected to be online by early next week.  You will be able to donate via indiegogo.com.

"We are asking for donations to the film.  There are multiple levels of available donations.  They range from $25 to $300 dollars.  With your donation comes certain perks that are listed on the site, such as being named as a special sponsor in the credits and more, said Reep."

"The Saline" is Fossil HD's second large documentary film in a year.  Last May, as part of Arkansas Heritage month, Fossil HD in association with the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce premiered the highly acclaimed film "Timber," which chronicled the history of the Timber industry in South Arkansas.

This documentary on the Saline River will premiere for the first time on June 13, 2013 at the Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival's first ever Fossil HD Film Night, a night of documentary films being shown on the Court Square.

Reep said, "We at Fossil HD are so thrilled to be hosting a documentary film night during the Pink Tomato Festival.  To be a part of what I believe to be one of the top 3 festivals in the entire State of Arkansas is truly special."

If you would like more information on how to tell your story of"The Saline" please email Rob Reep at robreep@fossilhd.com .   Due to time constraints not everyone who volunteers information will be able to be interviewed on camera.
