Diamond State Insurance Company Ordered to Pay $410,000 in Assault Case

On Tuesday, April 16, 2013, in Bradley County Circuit Court under Judge Bynum Gibson, a jury handed a decision in a case involving an assault on Dillion Rippy while he was a student on campus at Hermitage High School by six other male students.  The court awarded Rippy an amount of $400,000 and his mother Brenda Riley an amount of $10,000.  The judgement was against Diamond State Insurance Company that had insured the school.

A lawsuit against the Hermitage School District had been dropped.
