Pink Tomato Festival Quilt Show to be Held June 15

Tomatoes will soon be showing up all over Bradley County, even on quilts in the beautiful Bradley County Courthouse.  The annual Pink Tomato Festival Quilt Show will be held on Friday, June 14th, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and also on Saturday, June 15th, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

“Tall Pines and Pink Tomatoes” is this year’s theme for the handmade quilt that will be on display inside the courthouse.  This quilt was quilted by the Pleasant Valley Quilters.  It is a “one of a kind” quilt, which is very colorful and wonderfully made.  Anyone with a connection to Warren, Bradley County, or who just loves “tomatoes,” would cherish this future heirloom quilt.

Opportunity tickets are now being sold by members of the quilting club.  Also, tickets may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office.  Tickets are $2.00 each or 3 tickets for $5.00.  The proceeds from the sale of this beautiful quilt will help with future quilt shows, local charities, and other community projects.

The tomato quilt will be given away on Saturday, June 15th, at approximately 6:00 pm; announcements will be made from the main stage.  You do not have to be present to win.  Anyone interested in having a quilt or quilted project displayed, please see the following quilting club members: Joy Kitchens, Wanda Carr, or Sandra Dalsanto.

We look forward to seeing you at the Bradley County Quilt Show.  You will be viewing many new, older, and vintage quilts.  Some of these quilts will have patterns you recognize, while others you may not have seen before.  You will also be able to view the talents of our local quilters.  Some say, “Quilting is a dying art.”  The quilters of Bradley County are doing our best to preserve the history and encourage others to learn this art.  Anyone interested in learning to quilt, please contact the Extension office for details.  We hope to have several items that will be on sale in a special section of the display area.  PLEASE DROP BY THE COURTHOUSE AND VIEW THE QUILTS …….YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!
