A public hearing was held in Little Rock Wednesday, September 17 by the ABC Board to hear an appeal made by Bradley County Sheriff Rick Anders seeking the repealing of a private club license to the Johnsville Community Cafe early by the director of the ABC. Sheriff Anders appealed the issuance of the license based on the lack of manpower in his department to properly police the area.
Besides Sheriff Anders, Justice of the Peace Jim Anders was also in attendance.
The board heard from both sides including Attorney Steve Morley of Arkansas City who represented the club operator Dinanth Mulloli.
The Johnsville Community Cafe has a restaurant which is divided from the Private Club. Food is served in the club and operates only certain hours.
The board denied the appeal and upheld the directors decision to issue a permit legalizing the private club.
