Bradley County To Conduct Work On Intermodal Site

During the monthly meeting of the Southeast Arkansas Intermodal Authority Board, the county judges of Drew and Bradley Counties were asked to meet with the Authority's engineer to plan dirt work to be conducted on the intermodal site in preparation for installation of a water tower and for a road to cross the rail line that runs through the site.  The two counties will provide equipment and manpower to help complete the work.

In regular business the board voted to approve a change order in the amount of over $194,000.00 to complete the water tower project and the new road.  The board voted to paint the water tower white.  With approval of the change order the authority will complete spending 100% of the federal highway grant awarded for the project.

In the financial report provided by Robert C. Milton, the board was told that the City of Monticello has paid some $8,000.00 more than owed, thus giving them a credit.  The City of Warren, which is making regular payments, owes $23,223.85.  Drew County owes $80,319.13 and Bradley County owes $110,219.65.  It was noted that Bradley County has made recent payments.

There was discussion about the need to install a test well to try and determine the amount and quality of water available to be used on site by industrial prospects.
