Bradley County Rural and Pleasantville Fire Departments Respond to Grass Fire

The Bradley County Rural Fire Department  and the Pleasantville Fire Department responded to a grass fire at 420 Bradley 7 S on Wednesday, March 18 at 1:09 p.m.  The property was owned by Jim Rhodes and was used for livestock production.  According to the fire report, the land owner was burning a brush pile when fire escaped and burned about fifteen acres of pasture land.  A barn and a corral was throated by the fire.  According to a neighbor, he and Mr. Rhodes fought the fire for close to an hour before the fire department was called.  The fire line had grown long and was not easily extinguished because of solve soil conditions in the filed.

This is the 8th fire Bradley County Rural Fire has responded to this year in only two and one half months.
