Kim White Recipient of Quilt

(L to R) Judy Simmons, Sandra DalSanto, Egie Wilson, Linda Kercheval, Wanda Car, Kim White, Kathy Williams, Carol Murphy, Alayne Zimmerly

Kim White whose home was destroyed by a recent fire is shown receiving a hand- constructed quilt made by members of the Bradley Block Builders quilting club.  Kim, a rural mail carrier for the U S Postal Service for over thirty-one years and an avid collector of quilts, lost her quilt collection in the fire.  Personally known and loved by the community and especially those to whom she delivers mail, Kim goes out of her way to help postal service patrons.  The quilters, a branch of the Bradley County Extension Service, felt the presentation of the quilt to Kim and her husband, Scott, was a way to show Bradley County’s appreciation of her and her service to the community.

The Bradley Block Builders earn funds to support projects like Kim’s from the sale of opportunities to win quilts made by the club.  Tickets are now available for the Bradley County Pink Tomato Quilt which will be given to the winning ticket holder during the Pink Tomato Festival in June and the Veterans’ Museum Patriotic Quilt to be awarded on Veterans’ Day.  The patriotic quilt proceeds will be donated to the Bradley County Veterans’ Museum building project.

To support the club in these endeavors, one may purchase tickets from any club member or the extension office.
