Quorum Court Approves Funds For Shooting Teams

In a business meeting that was short on new business, the Bradley County Quorum Court reviewed monthly reports and listened to a very brief report from Judge Neely on county road work.  The Justices then adopted an appropriation ordinance providing money to  two youth shooting teams.  By a unanimous vote the Court granted $5502.50 to the Hermitage team and $5502.49 to the Warren team.  Justice of the Peace Pat Morman reminded the members that funds are received annually from fine money collected by the Game and Fish Commission within Bradley County and the county has been providing the money to the youth shooting teams to help with expenses.

After the vote to approve the funds, Justice Morman moved that records should be kept of how all of the money is spent and receipts should be turned in to the county in order to satisfy audit requirements.  The motion passed.

During the time allowed for public comments, Mrs. Edith Strong addressed the Court and asked the status of her previous request to have a bridge named after the late Veron Callum on Bradley Road #54.  There was discussion as to what if any action the Court had taken in an earlier meeting.  Judge Neely will investigate and if approved install a sign on the bridge.

Mrs. Strong asked advice about the ownership of several old cemeteries on county roads 54 and 56.  Further research will be conducted.
