Forestry Professor Emeritus To Receive Award At International Forestry Conference


           MONTICELLO, AR — Dr. David Patterson, professor emeritus of forestry at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, will receive the Fred W. Gottschalk Memorial Award at the international convention of the Forest Products Society June 11 in Atlanta, Ga.
           The Gottschalk Award is presented annually to recognize and honor exceptional service to the Forest Products Society by an individual member. The award is named for Fred W. Gottschalk, the first president of the FPS.
            Patterson served on the UAM faculty from 1996 until his retirement in 2010. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Penn State University, a master’s degree from Colorado State University, and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M.
