BCEDC Board Monthly Meeting

Tommy Maxwell and Rosemary Lassiter make presentation to BCEDC.
July 27th was the date of the regular monthly board meeting for the Bradley County Economic Development Commission.  The board approved the financial report and voted to support the effort to designate the Warren Downtown area as an "Historic District."

Present to provide an update on business in Warren, Bradley County and the region was Owner and CEO of Maxwell Hardwood Flooring, Tommy Maxwell.  He talked about the Maxwell Plant located in Monticello and the Ouachita and Townsend Hardwood Flooring facilities in Warren.  According to Mr. Maxwell all three companies are doing well and he is enthusiastic about the future.  Attending the meeting with Mr. Maxwell was Rosemary Lassiter, who handles marketing for the businesses.

The board was then informed that the State Forestry Commission has agreed to conduct controlled burning on the so called Griggs property located on the Northeast Bypass.  The land is an industrial site being prepared for future industrial use in an effort to create jobs.
