Library to Host Book Signing of Book About a Girl Growing Up in Warren

Author Joyce Bush (Joyce M. Poindexter Bush) will be at Warren Library, July 10 @10 AM to read a short summary of her book. She will also be selling and signing copies of the book "Sugar Shack".
The book "Sugar Shack" is a heart-warming, realistic fiction story that takes the reader on a trip through the life-changing events that happen to Gwendolyn Cole, a young girl growing up in the small, country town of Warren, Arkansas.

Joyce Bush is a retired teacher, whose passion for writing stems from her love for children. She is a graduate from USC with a master's degree in special education, and has studied under several renowned educators from USC and UCLA. Her masterful skills in puppetry enhance her creativity in scriptwriting and storytelling. She is married and has five children and twelve grandchildren. She is the caregiver for her mother, whose tales of live in the country have inspired many of her stories. Joyce and her husband's travels abroad with their church provide a multitude of experiences and new ideas for her stories. In her spare time, she and her four sister sing together as "The Poindexter Sisters" singing group. Joyce has written many wonderful stories. Sugar Shack, however, is her first published work.
