Fire Departments Respond to Fire in Banks

The Bradley County Rural Fire Department responded to a building fire at 199 Bradley 194 in Banks on Wednesday, February 10 at 2:11 p.m.  The structure was owned by Lorine Tatum.

The fire spread beyond the building.  The first unit to arrive was the Bradley County Rural Fire Department's brush truck.  Upon arrival, they discovered the shed fully engulfed and collapsing.  The engine compartment front tires and passenger compartment of a pickup truck was sitting about six feet from the structure and was also burning.  A fire from heat convection had begun on one corner of the home about fifteen feet from the building and a grass fire was nearing a field.

Banks Rural Fire Department arrived shortly after to assist along with a pumper from Jersey and Bradley Rural.

The fires were extinguished, however, the shed and the truck were a total loss.
