Hermitage School Board Accepts Retirements

In addition to receiving the normal financial and administrative reports, the Hermitage School Board took several actions during their February 8, 2016 monthly meeting.  The superintendent, the principal and other staff provided updates on various activities.

The board voted to refinance a bond issue to save the district some money.  They also voted to accept the resignations of Becky Greenwood and Debbie Daugherty for purpose of retirement.

In other business, Dr. Tucker reported that no critical elements needed to be addressed as a result of the CTE 5-year report.  The board also accepted changes to the cheer constitution.

In the last item of business, the board voted 7-0 to rescind the monetary part of Lori McDougald's contract as an assistant softball coach.  According to Superintendent  Tucker, the school district thought they could pay Ms. McDougald for helping coach the team.  The AAA indicates that a noncertified employee cannot be paid.  Ms. McDougald will serve as a volunteer for softball and will not receive any compensation.
