Industrial Site Class Presented

Several members of the Bradley County Economic Development Corporation and other interested parties participated in a class concerning industrial site location, taught by Steve Jones with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, held Tuesday May, 24th in the conference room of BCEDC.  Approximately 16 people took part in the two hour class.

The purpose was to help educate local concerned individuals as to what to look for and consider in seeking and buying industrial property.  Mr. Jones, who has been with AEDC since the mid 1980's, went into detail as to the type issues that should be considered by local economic developers when purchasing property or seeking sights for industry as well as commercial and residential development.

Among those present were:
John M. Lipton, Chairman BCEDC
Mayor Bryan Martin
Donna Lawhon, Ex. Director BCEDC
Representatives of local industry, Bradley County Medical Center, Southeast Arkansas
Human Development Center, the media, local business people and other interested parties.

Mr. Jones, who has been in the site location business for a number of years had many worthwhile points of information for the group.  He offered to help Warren any way he could, with the goal of bringing in new jobs to the community.
