WHS Homecoming to Be Held October 7

Senior Hannah Richey was recently elected 2016 Warren Lumberjack Homecoming Queen by the student body in grades 10-12.  Queen Hannah is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Richey.  She will be crowned during the Homecoming Coronation which will be held Friday, October 7, at 12:30 p.m. in the Warren Cultural Center.  Queen Hannah will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by seniors Hayden Lassiter and Dennis Daniels.  Hayden is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shannon Lassiter.  Dennis is the son of the late Mr. Dennis Daniels and Mrs. Deborah Kemp.  In the halftime presentation, Queen Hannah will be escorted by her father.  Attendants for the queen are Landen Michael McKinley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chad McKinley and Bailey Grace Thornton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Thornton.  Serving in the queen’s court are eight senior maids.

Maid Alexis Dunaway is the daughter of Mr. David Dunaway and Ms. Reecia Dunaway.  She will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by senior Ryan Smith.  Ryan is the son of Mr. Jessie Stephney and Ms. Patricia Smith.  In the halftime presentation, Alexis will be escorted by her grandfather, Dr. Joe Dunaway.

Maid Katelynn Elizabeth Dunaway is the daughter of Mr. Brandon Dunaway and Ms. Tonia Dunaway.  She will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by senior Greyson Ashcraft. Greyson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Ashcraft.  In the halftime presentation, Katelynn will be escorted by her grandfather, Mr. Ken VanDerZwalm.

Maid Kaylee Jo Mann is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joey Mann.  She will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by senior Byron Person, Jr.  Byron is the son of Mr. Byron Person, Sr. and Ms. Rochelle Steel.  In the halftime presentation, Kaylee Jo will be escorted by her father.

Maid Jakrya Miller is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Dodds.  She will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by seniors Mason Ross and De’Vonta Brown. Mason is the son of Mr. Frederick Thompson and Ms. Regina Ross.  De’Vonta is the son of Mr. Bryant Green and Ms. Beverly Brown. In the halftime presentation, Jakrya will be escorted by her step-father, Mr. Christopher Dodds, and grandfather, Daniel Rochell.

Maid Blaine Morman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Morman.  She will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by senior Carrington Gilbert. Carrington is the son of Mr. Tyrone Gilbert and Ms. LaTonya Gilbert.  In the halftime presentation, Blaine will be escorted by her father.

Maid Reese Morman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Morman.  She will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by senior Gaige Watson.  Gaige is the son of Mr. Alex Harris and Mrs. Hiddi Watson.  In the halftime presentation, Reese will be escorted by her grandfather, Kermit Puterbaugh.

Maid Krista Michelle Sparks is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sparks.  She will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by senior football player Sergio Yepes. Sergio is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sergio Yepes, Sr.  In the halftime presentation, Krista will be escorted by her father.

Maid Denisha Stallings is the daughter of Mr. Patrick Stallings and Ms. Karen Furlough.  She will be escorted in the coronation ceremony by senior D’Shawn Jackson.  D’Shawn is the son of Mr. Kevin Childs and Ms. Blanche Jackson.  In the halftime presentation, Denisha will be escorted by both of her parents.

The coronation ceremony will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m.  The doors will be closed at 12:20, and all people planning to attend need to be seated by that time.

Following the coronation, the parade will be held at 2:00 p.m. and will begin on North Main Street at the corner of Bond Street.  It will travel south to Church Street and will then turn west for one block before turning north on Myrtle Street. A community-wide pep assembly will be held on the Courthouse Square.


The football game will kick off at 7:00 p.m., and Queen Hannah and her royal court will be presented to the fans at halftime.
