Tomato Festival Committee Reviews 2016 Financial Report

Members of the 2016 Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival Committee met September 22, 2016 to review the final financial report for 2016 and discuss plans for 2017.  Mike Nichols, who served as chairman for the 2016 festival presided.

According to the final 2016 report, the festival finished with total assets of $826.97.  This is compared to a -$17,800.66 in 2015.  This means the festival paid off all unpaid bills for 2015 and paid all bills for 2016.  It should be noted that the Warren Forward organization, which in the past loaned the festival money, is still owed some $2900.00, but all private vendors have been paid in full.  The festival is now an event that exceeds $100,000.00 per year in revenue and expenses.

Income for the 2016 festival came from activities such as:
5K run, All Tomato Luncheon, Arts & Crafts, Car Show, Carnival, Cutest Dog Contest, Entertainment, Food Vendors, Gun Raffle, Pageants, Steak Cook-off, T-Shirt sales, Talent contest, Trap shoot and Personal contributions.  Many individuals and businesses gave money to help make the festival a success.

Expenses covered all aspects of the festival with the largest being the purchase of T-shirts and payment for entertainment.

The Committee for 2017 will begin meeting throughout the remainder of 2016 and into 2017 in preparation for the June, 2017 festival.  Mr. Nichols thanked all the committee members and volunteers for their hard work and dedication.
