Founder's Day and Officer Consecration Service Held at St. James AME

The East Arkansas Annual Conference Founder's Day Worship, Installation and Communion Service was held Saturday, February 25, 2012, at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Warren.  Reverend Nolan Watson was the Host Presiding Elder, and Reverent Kent J. Broughton was the Host Pastor.  Reverend James Giles served as the Worship Leader.

The Conference began with a Praise and Worship Service presented by the Conference Choir.  It was followed by the processional of components, clergy, presiding elders, and the Bishop.  Reverend Broughton issued the Call to Worship.

Following a Hymn of Celebration presented by the Reverend Harriel White. Reverend Cindy Robinson gave the Invocation.  The choir and congregation sang "Spirit of Living Water" among other musical selections.

Scripture lessons from  Psalm 46 and Romans 10: 9-15 were delivered by Reverend Randolph Martin and Reverend Nolan Watson.

The Preface to the Decalogue was given by Reverend Shalane Jenkins.  A congregational hymn was sung and then the summary of the Decalogue was given before the Gloria Patri.  Other events leading up to the sermon were the ministry of music, the moment of sacrificial giving, the presentation of the Bishop, and the introduction of the preacher.

The sermon was delivered by Bishop Jewel Whithers of Arkansas 1st Jurisdiction COGIC.  An invitation to new life followed the sermon.

The Stewardship of Giving was conduced by the finance team.

During the afternoon's events, City of Warren Mayor Bryan Martin presented a proclamation to the conference.
