Foscue Management Services, LLC Taking Applications for Medical Coordinators: Training to Begin January 5

Dr. and Mrs. Foscue are excited about FMS, LLC and how it can improve a physician's ability to give his patient undivided attention and care.
People all around the community have been excited about the new business venture of Dr. David Foscue and his wife Teresa.  Foscue Managment Services, LLC is a medical coordinator service that is set to fulfill a great need in the medical community.  The mission of Foscue Management Services, LLC is to provide a cost-effective medical coordinator service for physicians focusing on excellent documentation, increased productivity for the physician, improved reimbursement, and improved satisfaction for the physician.  The service provides trained medical coordinators to ease the burden on the physician with the increasing complexity of the electronic health record.  With FMS, the physician focuses on the patient, while medical coordinators focus on the paperwork.

The Foscue's are in the process of completing the technology set up of their new facility which is located next door, east of Dr. Foscue's office.

Susan is one of two medical coordinators already on
staff at Dr. Foscue's office.
FMS is now in the process of accepting applications for medical coordinators.  The job description is as follows:  It will be the responsibility of the medical coordinator to facilitate patient flow through the physician clinic and ensure accurate and complete medical record for each patient following all local, state and federal guidelines for documentation.  Medical coordinators will be responsible for recording the medical history, symptoms, physical exam, and diagnosis, recording detail into the electronic health record.  The medical coordinator is also responsible for coordinating tests, orders, radiology and results.

4.  Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details.
5.  Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.
6.  Communication skills and the ability to coordinate and cooperate with multiple members of the health care team.
7.  Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.

located in their new facility.
Given the nature of FMS, the medical coordinators will be privy to extremely confidential and sensitive information of patients.  Therefore, any applicants or employees convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude (crime involving dishonesty or false statement) is not eligible for employment with FMS, LLC.  Any person with a history of violence is not eligible for employment with FMS, LLC, which reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, if any such conviction or incidents are grounds for termination or refusal to employ.  Background checks will be run on applicants.

Mrs. Foscue said that FMS plans to begin training of medical coordinators January 5.  They will be trained in Physician Electronic Healthcare SOAPware a program which allows each person to train at his or her own pace.  In their training to become a medical coordinator, they will receive online training with Valadoc.  Mrs. Foscue anticipates the training, depending on the individual, to take three to six weeks for completion.  "By March, we'll be ready to put them to work,"  she said as she noted that after training in Electronic Health Recording and training as a medical coordinator, the trainees will then begin using Dr. Foscue's Clinic as a live training field.  Then they will be matched up with physicians purchasing the service.

By using FMS, doctors will not have to worry about employee absences, as medical coordinators will always be on hand.  FMS plans to provide bilingual medical coordinators.  The Foscues hope to cover every scenario that might arise.    They have even purchased a generator to prevent power outages from hindering this much-needed service.  The computer equipment they will be using will use high speed Internet.

In addition to medical coordinator services, FMS will offer other services to physicians including reorganization of clinics.

The medical coordinator service will eliminate distractions so physicians can provide medical care and less time entering data into a computer.  This service will not only be made available to medical physicians, it has the ability to serve dentists, ophthalmologists, and more.   The use of medical coordinators will cut costs eventually and will immediately allow physicians to provide better patient care.

They way the service will work is interesting.  A medical coordinator will listen to what is being said by the doctor.  He or she will input the information into computers as they speak.  Permission from the patient will be obtained before any medical coordinator listens to the doctor-patient conversation.

Another beneficial aspect of the service is that the medical coordinator will place orders for prescribed medications electronically to a pharmacy.  Referrals will be made immediately, and school/work excuses can be sent out by the medical coordinator.  The patient will be given a copy of the visits summary before leaving the Dr.'s office.

Former State Representative and former Chairman of the House Health Committee Gregg Reep said,  "This is exciting for our area.  Not only does it address many of the health care concerns that are facing us, it also opens up new jobs for the area."
